I've been watching Babylon for a few days, and one thought keeps following me around.
For most of Bitcoin's life, its value came from doing one thing extremely well: securing itself.
Babylon is pushing a different idea.
What happens when that same Bitcoin starts securing things outside of Bitcoin, while never actually leaving the network?
The more I think about it, the less obvious it feels.
Everyone talks about staking, rewards, and TVL. That's not the part that caught my attention.
What caught me is the trust transfer.
A PoS chain can borrow security from Bitcoin, but can it also borrow the confidence people have in Bitcoin? Those don't feel like the same thing.
Maybe they are.
Maybe they're not.
That's the part I'm struggling with.
The design makes sense on paper, but crypto has a habit of looking simple until real users, real incentives, and real pressure show up.
I'm still watching to see where that pressure lands.
Not on Bitcoin.
On everything trying to stand next to it.
