China Nat. Energy said Chairman and Executive Director Cheng Li-Quan was invited by Hong Kong’s Independent Commission Against Corruption to assist in an investigation related only to his personal other business, according to Ming Pao.

The company said Cheng has confirmed he has not been charged with any offence as of today. Based on the board’s knowledge, the investigation is unrelated to the group’s affairs, and the board believes it will not have a material adverse impact on the group because day-to-day production and operations are jointly handled by other executive directors and management.
