Thomas Tuchel said Kobbie Mainoo missed England’s bronze final against France at the World Cup because of sharp back pain. The Manchester United midfielder was ruled out before kick-off in Miami, Florida, after being injured in the last training session yesterday morning, according to Yahoo Sports reported.

Tuchel made seven changes to his starting XI as England beat France 6-4 three days after a 1-0 loss to Argentina in the semi-finals. Mainoo did not play a minute at the tournament.
