The more I think about it, the more I wonder if we've been measuring competitive advantage the wrong way. We keep assuming the biggest networks will inevitably become the strongest. That made sense when access was scarce and scale solved most problems. I'm not sure it does anymore.

AI is making intelligence cheaper, information easier to find, and participation almost frictionless. If everyone can connect to the same networks, then network size slowly stops being a meaningful moat. Something else has to separate durable systems from temporary ones.

Halfway through that thought, I realized the real advantage may come from improving the quality of decisions rather than increasing the number of participants. A million connected users don't necessarily create a resilient economy if they're constantly reacting to noise, conflicting incentives, or incomplete context.

That's why projects like Newton Protocol feel interesting to me. They seem less like another infrastructure layer and more like evidence that digital economies are evolving toward environments where humans, AI agents, and institutions can consistently make better decisions together rather than simply transact more often.

Maybe that's where the next economic moat quietly forms. Not around bigger communities or larger pools of capital, but around systems that reduce confusion, align incentives, and make thoughtful participation easier than impulsive participation. The longer I think about it, the less I believe the future belongs to the largest network. It may belong to the network that quietly helps everyone inside it make better decisions.
