We are keeping a close eye on Newton Protocol (NEWT) right now as it rolls out its mainnet beta to help people run automated AI trading strategies safely off-chain.I actually spent the morning digging through their technical updates because my own trading bot got absolutely wrecked by front-runners yesterday, so I wanted to see if their tech actually works. From what we can see, they are combining secure hardware chips with zero-knowledge proofs so developers can host trading models without anyone stealing their secret code. We also found that they are building a specialized rollup to make cross-chain trading gas fees much cheaper.But we found two big red flags during our research that make us pretty worried. First, locking the network's security into specific physical hardware chips means if hackers find a backdoor into those chips, the whole system fails. Second, we think they will run into a major roadblock trying to get people to use it, because developers have to lock up a ton of tokens just to post their strategies, which could cause massive price swings if nobody signs up this month.
