Binance Coin (BNB) is the native cryptocurrency of the Binance ecosystem, launched in 2017. It was initially created to provide trading-fee discounts on the Binance Exchange but later expanded into a multi-utility asset. BNB is used for paying transaction (gas) fees on the BNB Chain, participating in token launches, and supporting decentralized applications (dApps).

A key feature of BNB is its quarterly token-burn mechanism, which reduces its overall supply to maintain long-term value. Although BNB powers a large and active blockchain network, its value and stability depend heavily on Binance’s global operations and are influenced by market volatility and regulatory developments.
