Xaman Wallet Creator Alerts to Large-Scale Scam Aimed at XRPL Users
Wietse Wind, the founder of Xaman Wallet, has issued a warning about a widespread scam specifically targeting XRPL users. The scheme involves multiple methods, such as phishing emails, fake sign requests, and impersonation accounts. Wind has updated the Xaman Wallet with new filters and alerts to help protect users from these fraudulent activities. He emphasized that users' funds are secure as long as they do not share their keys or approve suspicious transactions. The surge in scams reflects an alarming trend in the industry, with crypto scams and hacks amounting to over $4 billion in 2025. The PeckShield report also revealed that about 75% of stolen funds in 2025 came from centralized platforms and companies, demonstrating that deception-related thefts extend beyond software wallets.
