🔁 Trading Pairs: A Beginner’s Guide

In financial markets—especially cryptocurrency and forex—trading pairs are essential to understanding how assets are exchanged.

What Are Trading Pairs?

A trading pair represents a market where one asset is traded for another. It's typically shown in the format:

BASE/QUOTE
(Example: BTC/USD)

Base Currency: The first asset in the pair (e.g., BTC – Bitcoin). This is what you’re buying or selling.

Quote Currency: The second asset (e.g., USD – US Dollar). This is the currency used to price the base.

So, if BTC/USD = 50,000, that means 1 Bitcoin costs 50,000 US Dollars.

Trading pairs help you determine the relative value between two assets and decide how to trade them in the market.
