Main Takeaways
Binance is hosting free educational and networking events across 11 locations worldwide to encourage more women to explore the crypto space.
The events will provide learning opportunities, networking sessions, and inspiring discussions to support financial empowerment of women.
Crypto is for everyone. The initiative reflects Binance’s ongoing commitment to inclusivity and reducing gender disparities in blockchain and Web3.
This year, we are celebrating International Women’s Day with a series of exciting gatherings spanning five continents, aimed to equip women with knowledge, skills, and networking opportunities needed to navigate the world of digital assets and blockchain technology.
Between March 5 and 15, Binance will host events across 11 locations globally: Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), Dubai (UAE), Milan (Italy), Madrid (Spain), Nairobi (Kenya), Cape Town (South Africa), Buenos Aires (Argentina), São Paulo (Brazil), Mexico City (Mexico), Lomé (Togo), and Astana (Kazakhstan). These gatherings will offer hands-on workshops on cryptocurrency fundamentals, practical career advice and networking opportunities, as well as dynamic panel discussions with leading women in Web3.
Breaking Barriers and Building Opportunities
Much like the wider tech industry, the cryptocurrency sector is still male-dominated, but Binance stands at the forefront of an effort to level the playing field and bring more women to both the Web3 workforce and the ranks of crypto users.
Through our International Women’s Day initiative, we are not only aiming to celebrate the achievements of women in the industry, but also working actively to break down the barriers that prevent women from entering the crypto space.
Rachel Conlan, Binance’s Chief Marketing Officer, emphasized, “Binance remains a leader in driving gender diversity across crypto and tech. Women now represent 40% of our workforce and half of our marketing team," said Rachel Conlan, Binance CMO. "While progress has been made, there is still work to be done to usher more women into crypto. Through our International Women's Day events, we aim to celebrate and inspire women, fostering financial empowerment and breaking down barriers to industry knowledge and participation.”
A Broader Push
This commitment extends beyond IWD. Binance continues to expand its women-focused initiatives, including global meetups and online networking communities that also provide women with ongoing support, career opportunities, and knowledge-sharing platforms to ensure long-term growth in the industry.
One successful example is Binance Turkey’s Women in Technology Academy that has made massive strides in increasing financial literacy and strengthening women’s participation in Web3. Designed to empower a new generation of young technology leaders, it has reached over 1,000 women in just a year and is on track to educate 5,000 women over five years.
Whether it’s through tailored educational initiatives, mentorship programs, or dedicated networking events, Binance remains committed to its mission to bridge the gender gap and foster a greater, opportunity-driven representation of women in the cryptocurrency sector.
