BlockHash CEO Brandon Zemp: 2024 will be an explosive year for Bitcoin

According to the forecast of the CEO of the consulting company BlockHash, 2024 will be a good year for Bitcoin, the launch of cryptocurrency ETFs and the adoption of rules for regulating crypto assets. Brandon Zemp, author of The Future Economy: A Crypto Insider's Guide to the Tech Dismantling Traditional Banking, mentioned the collapse of the FTX cryptocurrency exchange and the bankruptcy of crypto lenders, as well as the collapse of some stablecoins. These events caused unrest in the crypto market and reduced investor confidence in digital assets. However, Zemp cautioned, cryptocurrencies are cyclical in nature. The collapse of crypto projects was facilitated by investors themselves, who, the businessman complains, bought colorful NFTs in JPEG format and trusted developers who create useless software for the sake of profit. “The good news is that cryptocurrencies are here to stay and bad actors are being pushed out of the market all the time. This increases public awareness of safety measures. The bullish trend is again on the horizon and it may be more stable as the bad players have left the scene,” said the BlockHash executive. Over the past two years, there has been a lot of attention from law enforcement agencies to the crypto industry, Zemp noted. And yet, the expert hopes that in 2024, American legislators will be able to bring regulatory clarity to the crypto market. The CEO of BlockHash recalled cases when the courts sided with crypto companies that were under attack by regulators, in particular the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). In July, after years of battles, a court ruled that Ripple's XRP coin was not a security for secondary sales.

Now many investors are optimistic about the launch of spot Bitcoin ETFs, the expert says. If such exchange-traded funds are approved in the US, this will push the price of Bitcoin up. “I didn’t want everything to be decided in the courts. I have a glimmer of hope that next year the bill on cryptocurrencies will still be passed. Otherwise, regulators will continue to sink their fangs into the industry, and cryptocurrencies will continue to resist,” Zemp added. Not all market participants agree on cryptocurrency ETFs. Former BitMEX CEO Arthur Hayes fears that Bitcoin ETFs threaten the existence of the first cryptocurrency and could lead to the demise of the Bitcoin network.
