Metamask is leaving the Apple Store !?

As of today, October 16, 2023, 14:01 PST, Metamask is still available on the Apple App Store. However, there have been reports that Metamask was briefly removed from the App Store on October 14, 2023. The reason for the takedown is still unknown, but MetaMask has stated that it was not related to anything malicious and that their team is working hard to resolve it as soon as possible.

It is possible that Metamask could be removed from the App Store again in the future, but there is no indication that this is imminent. Apple has strict rules about the types of apps that are allowed on the App Store, and Metamask may be in violation of some of these rules. For example, Apple prohibits apps from gating content and features behind crypto payments or offering in-app crypto purchases. Metamask recently added a new feature that allows users to deposit funds through a Stripe on-ramp, so it is possible that this feature could be causing the issues with Apple.
