The FTX hacker, known as "FTX Drainer," may be using the hype around Sam Bankman-Fried's fraud trial to further obfuscate the stolen funds, says CertiK's director of security operations Hugh Brooks. The hacker has been moving millions in Ether gained from the November attack throughout the trial. In the last three days, approximately 15,000 ETH (worth around $24 million) was transferred to three new wallet addresses. Brooks suggests the FTX drainer may have assumed the trial would monopolize attention, leaving insufficient bandwidth to trace the stolen funds. Meanwhile, the hacker has changed its method for obscuring funds, using a more sophisticated laundering method that prolongs the tracing process.
