According to Foresight News, Ethereum L2 project Fhenix has announced a collaboration with EigenLayer to develop a Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) coprocessor, aiming to introduce FHE into smart contracts. The focus of the FHE coprocessor is to perform calculations on encrypted data without the need to decrypt the information first. The FHE coprocessor will ensure that sensitive and complex computational tasks are not processed on Ethereum or subsequent Layer2 or Layer3, but rather by designated processors.
The FHE coprocessor will be protected by Fhenix's FHE rollup and EigenLayer's staking mechanism. EigenLayer supports Active Verification Services (AVS) to integrate Ethereum pool security.
