Everyone on Square is circling Oct 28 on their calendar like it's the big
$FET supply event.
Here's the problem — that unlock is 2.43 million tokens. Under $520K. Just 0.09% of the supply. It mathematically cannot move this market.
The real supply story already happened. And it wasn't $500K. It was roughly $120 million.
Earlier this month, Ocean Protocol — the partner that walked out of the ASI Alliance — moved about 270 million FET to Binance and GSR Markets, per Bubblemaps' on-chain analysis. That's close to 10% of the entire circulating supply, parked at exchange wallets.
Were they sold? Nobody can prove that. But this is where selling happens, and it came right after Ocean's messy split from the alliance — Fetch.ai's CEO publicly accused Ocean of dumping community-allocated tokens and put up a $250K bounty for answers. Ocean calls the claims "unfounded rumors." Litigation is live.
So read that however you want — but this is the overhang sitting on the chart. Not the unlock.
Now here's what the chart is actually saying.
$FET trades around $0.19 — roughly 94% below its $3.45 all-time high, down somewhere between 14% and 20% in the last week. The $0.186 shelf has held on repeated tests; open the chart and you'll see buyers stepping in there each time. That's your line in the sand.
Lose $0.186 and the next air pocket is $0.166 — the level every analyst keeps circling. Hold it, and the reclaim sequence starts at $0.195, then $0.20. A weekly close above $0.26–$0.32 is what actually flips this from "bounce" to "recovery." Until then, rallies are guilty until proven innocent.
Zoom out for a second: the AI sector isn't dead.
$TAO holds a market cap six to seven times FET's and keeps outperforming — compare the two charts and the verdict is clear. This is FET-specific weakness, not AI-sector death. Some traders read that gap as a relative-value setup. Others read it as the market picking winners — and FET not being one. Pick your side.
And don't forget the macro hand on the wheel:
$BTC . FET's recent bleed tracked the broader market's inflation-driven selloff. If Bitcoin rolls over again, every one of those support shelves gets retested.
Now the honest part, because this is where most posts lie to you.
The alliance is fractured — Ocean is gone, lawsuits are pending. The token converter got exploited for ~$1.56M in FET a month ago. ASI:Chain still has no mainnet while competitors ship real products. And supply has no hard cap, with roughly 400 million tokens still vesting into 2050. This is a trader's setup, not a "buy and forget" story.
So the real question: are you watching the $0.186 shelf hold — or waiting for $0.166 to do the deciding?
Not financial advice. DYOR.
