CrossCountry said it will run a full train service on Monday after a power outage at its Birmingham control centre caused mass cancellations across its network on Sunday, according to BBC. The operator said it planned to run a very limited number of trains from around 18:00 BST on Sunday evening, mainly on routes towards Leicester and Derby, as facilities were reinstated and recovery work continued with National Grid and industry partners.

The company said customers delayed by 30 minutes or more may be entitled to compensation, while those who choose not to travel can claim a refund from their original point of purchase. Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander said she was pleased some trains were set to run on Sunday night and that a full timetable was expected to resume on Monday.
