NEW YORK SESSION: THE RANGE STILL HOLDS, BUT RISK HAS SHIFTED TO ITS EDGES
The morning handoff produced no fills across 12 scenarios, even as gold gained 23.327 from 4583.95 to 4607.27 and traded through the 4570–4583, 4600 and 4605–4615 areas. The ranging thesis remains intact, although the middle of the range has now been worked more heavily and offers less decision quality.
Gold is anchored near 4602.982. The W1 and D1 HH-HL structure remains constructive, while DXY at 99.207 and the US10Y yield at 4.66% limit the upside. Roughly USD 1.6 billion of SPDR GLD inflows and a Managed Money net long of 141648 contracts keep the broader tilt mildly bullish. Confidence remains only 55%.
The regime is still Ranging. About 90% of the D1 ATR of 86.9552 has already been used, so pullbacks and retests remain valid while breakout entries are disabled. The main uncertainty is Warsh: one headline could turn a routine liquidity sweep into a directional move.
Internal liquidity at 4564.9 and 4643.27 has already been partially cleared. The cleaner external pools remain at 4520 below and 4715 above. A hawkish response points toward 4570 and then 4520; a dovish response puts 4645 and 4715 in focus.
